Located along the western border of Eugene, Oregon, Bethel Danebo is one of the fastest growing communities in the region. Bordered by Oregon Route 99 to the east and the Southern Pacific Railroad to the south, the neighborhood’s real estate offers convenient access to the commercial, economic, and cultural amenities of Eugene. Residents also enjoy quality schools, beautiful parks, and quiet residential living.

Shopping and Dining

Bethel Danebo is home to a number of quality shops, restaurants, and grocery stores, including Bi-Mart, WinCo Foods, Fred Meyer, and Wal-Mart. The Blind Pig Bar & Grill on Roosevelt is known for its breakfast specials, dart tournaments, and “Best in the Northwest” House Smoked Salmon Chowder. Pappy’s Pizzeria serves up piping hot pizza for eat-in, take-out, or delivery. For fresh food to go, nothing beats a hot or cold hoagie from Hoagies-R-Us or one of the many authentic yet affordable dishes at the Ubon Thai Kitchen on Oregon Route 99. Additional neighborhood options include a number of national eateries, such as Taco Bell, Starbucks, Subway, Little Caesars Pizza, and Dairy Queen. For additional choices, residents can head into downtown Eugene where a myriad of international delights are sure to please any palate. Morning Glory Café, Keystone Café, Red Agave, McMenamin’s North Bank, Iraila, and Ring of Fire are a few local favorites. P.F. Chang’s and Chapalas Mexican Restaurant are two of several restaurants located in the open-air shopping mall, Oakway Center. Home to Bed Bath & Beyond, Chico’s, Coldwater Creek, Old Navy, Pier 1 Imports, Pottery Barn, and Trader Joe’s, the outdoor shopping mall is a unique blend of boutiques and name-brand favorites.

Parks and Recreation

Situated between the Pacific Ocean and the Cascade Mountain range, Bethel Danebo offers convenient access to some of the best hiking, biking, camping, skiing, and snowshoeing in the country. The 2,363-acre Howard Buford County Recreation Center features hiking, biking, and equestrian trails; a 20-acre horse arena; a five-acre native plant nursery; and a 1,531’ summit. Mt. Pisgah, the park’s dominant feature, also is home to the Mount Pisgah Arboretum, a 209-acre living tree museum. Located on the Long Tom River, the Fern Ridge Reservoir provides idyllic summertime recreation. With 32 miles of shoreline and more than 25 square miles of water, the reservoir is the perfect place for swimming, boating, and other water activities. Closer to home, the 33-acre Bethel Community Park features baseball fields, basketball courts, a children’s playground, performance areas, picnic tables, and a skate park. It also is being considered as a future site for a new, 65,000-square-foot YMCA.

Living

Bethel Danebo real estate is mostly comprised of newer, single-family houses in recently developed residential subdivisions. Most houses for sale in Bethel Danebo are medium-sized, ranging from 2 to 4 bedrooms. Median home price for 2013 is approximately $169,000.

Schools, Health, and Transportation

Though officially located within the Eugene city limits, Bethel Danebo real estate is serviced by its own school district: Bethel School District. The third largest school district in Lane County, the district serves approximately 5,700 students and operates five elementary schools, two middle schools, two K-8 schools, and two high schools in the area.

The Sacred Heart Medical Center – University District provides acute care and emergency services to area residents. The McKenzie Surgery Center is a multi-specialty ambulatory surgery facility that provides care on an outpatient basis.

Residents can get around Bethel Danebo and the greater Eugene area on the LTD. The regional Eugene Airport provides daily flights to larger, international airports around the country. Amtrak offers easy connections to cities in Washington, Oregon, and California.
